FAQs

Where do you source your yarn?

Our fibers are primarily sourced through small and large farms alike in Argentina and Uruguay. Each and every base is assured to be muesling-free.

Do you offer a size-inclusivity discount?

We do! When purchasing a sweater quantity of 7 skeins+ (on any base, any colorway, so you can mix and match for color work or striped garments) from any of our pre-order collections, use the code ANTIFATTAX for ~$4/off per skein!

We ask that everyone who uses the code uses it in good faith of how it's intended to be used. This means that if you're purchasing a sweater quantity and additional skeins for other projects, we ask that you place two separate orders to keep the discount to your sweater quantity! :)

How should I care for my yarn?

Most, if not all, of our bases are superwash merino, however, we still recommend that you hand soak your knits in lukewarm water with a wool-wash of your choosing and lay flat to block/dry on a clean towel or mats. This simply ensures that the knits you worked so tirelessly to create last for years to come.

If you would like to use your washing machine, though, we recommend washing your piece alone on the gentlest cycle and always laying flat to dry. This simply prevents any amount of shrinkage that may come with using natural fibers like merino wool.

While we thoroughly rinse our yarns before their final bath in wool wash with us, there is always a slight chance that there will be a small amount of bleeding in your first few washes. This is why it is important to wash separately from your other garments, just in case.

    When will my package arrive?

We use USPS to ship all of our packages; they are such a vital part of our business! When your package ships depends on what you've ordered.

For Pre-Order yarn: we do our best to dye and ship as we finish in batches. Our emails for each collection release will tell you the turn around time for Pre-Orders (normally 12-14 weeks, but check our collection highlights on instagram to see for sure!). The collection page will also have the same turn-around time listed.

For In-Stock yarn: your order will ship in 2-4 business days from the time the order is placed. If you happen to order from both an in-stock and pre-order section, your entire order will not ship until all parts of the order are complete!

For US domestic orders, once we ship your order, it is the responsibility of you, the customer, and we are not liable for lost or missing packages. While we will always do what we can to answer your questions about your packages to the best of our ability, in the case that a package has been lost, USPS will be able to help you locate it.

For international orders, once we ship your order, it is the responsibility of you, the customer, and we are not liable for lost or missing packages. We will always do what we can to answer any questions you have about your shipment. Any extra fees accrued over the course of your order's journey to you are the responsibility of you, the customer (i.e. customs fees).

What are your return, shipping, and exchanges policies?

If you have any problems with your order, please do not hesitate to send us an email! If your package arrives damaged or has any fulfillment problem, let us know and we'd be happy to talk with you about it.

We have a 10-day return policy, which means you have 10 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, so it cannot be caked or unwound in any way. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at hello@reddoorfs.com. Buyers are responsible for return shipping with tracking of the goods you wish to return. Upon receipt of your items, we will issue a refund to the payment method you used during the original purchase!

You can always contact us for any return question at hello@reddoorfs.com.

    Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

    Exceptions / non-returnable items
It's worth noting that One of a Kind colorways or custom dye jobs are final sale and non-refundable.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

    Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

    Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

    Do you offer wholesale?

Yes! We love working with other members of the fibre community. Please send us an email at hello@reddoorfs.com and we can work on setting up your order for you. Wholesale is available for both local yarn shops (both brick and mortar and online) and for any KALs/CALs (Knit a longs, or Crochet a longs) you may be hosting!

    Do you offer yarn support?

One of my most favorite aspects of the fiber community is how we can all come together in support for one another! If you are interested in receiving yarn support for an upcoming design, please don't hesitate to email us at hello@reddoorfs.com!
